Admission

St. Xavier's Industrial Training Institute is managed by St. Xavier's Carmel monastery, C.M.I (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate,Founded by BI. Chavara Kuriakose Elias ), Pullur,Irinjalakuda.The objectives of the training scheme are: i. to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the industry, ii. to raise the quality and quantity of industrial production by systematic training of workers and iii. to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by equipping them for suitable industrial employment. All trades imparted here are affiliated to N.C.V.T, Govt. of India. Admission is open to all earnest students of good character irrespective of caste and creed. Applicants belonging to SC/ST categories will have concessions and reservation. The minimum qualification for admission to the training shall be S.S.L.C pass and age between 14 & 40. The eligible applicants have to undergo an interview and aptitude test along with their parents and should produce all original certificates. Those who are admitted shall given an undertaking signed by himself/herself and his /her parents to effect that they will abide by the rules and regulations of the training institute take due care of tools and equipments entrusted to them and that they will pay the fees for the rest of the whole course if they discontinue or get dismissed for any reason.
The first installment includes Caution Money Rs. 500/- and Rs. 500/- for diary, identity card, concession card etc. and it will be collected at the time of admission. Other installments and Monthly fees should be remitted in the office on or before 10th day of the month, then fine will be charged up to 25th of the month, afterwards removed from the roll.

The attested copies of the following documents must accompany with the application form:
  1. Age Certificate
  2. Mark list of the qualifying exam
  3. Caste Certificate
  4. Certificate for weightage marks
The documents to be produced at the time of admission:
  1. Original Mark lists of SSLC & +2/ VHSE / Degree / Diploma
  2. Transfer Certificate & Conduct Certificate
  3. Two passport size photographs
  4. Certificate in original for weightage marks
  5. Income Certificate /Caste Certificate for fee concessions
  • Recognition Certificate if necessary
  • Previous permission is needed for all leaves and it should be endorsed by the parents. The leave letter will sanction by the Principal only after the confirmation by parents through phone. A trainee who absent himself from the training institute for Five consecutive working days without permission and without informing the Principal of the institute for the reason for his/her absence, will be treated as an absconder and struckoff the rolls. If the trainee returns to the training institute along with their parents, he/she may be readmitted by the Principal remitting Rs. 500/- provided that the Principal is satisfied the explanation given by them. Those who are absent from any working hour without permission will be considered as absent, and no body is allowed to go out side the compound without permission from Principal . Only one casual leave per month may be allowed and 80% attendance is compulsory for all months to attend the govt. exam. Monday to Saturday except second Saturdays and public holidays are working days. First year 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and second year 7.00 a.m.to 3.00 p.m. are the training hours and trainees must be punctual for clasess,those who come late should get permission from Principal. The office time is 9.00am to 5.00pm in every working days. Trainees who want to stay outside their homes for studies shall get previous permission from the Principal. Trainees are not allowed to entertain visitors,relatives or friends during working hours.
  • Everyone should wear clean and decent dress (pants and shirt / churidar) - no Jeans,T- shirts, over color etc. All the trainees have to attend theory classes on all days and practical classes every day in the prescribed uniform.
  • Self-discipline is Prime importance in this training institute.The trainees should have a copy of the diary without which they will not be admitted to the class and it is the easiest source for parents to know the study progress of your children.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, neglect of home work, disobedience and disrespect towards staff and Management or bad moral influence, using alcoholic materials etc. justify dismissal.Trainees should submit the record in time , otherwise there will be punishment . It is forbidden to write or scribe on the walls, and furniture, throw paper, ink or plastic materials about the class room or premises and the damage done must be paid for. Trainees are forbidden to use Mobile Phone, Tape recorder, Camera etc. in the premises of the training institute. Trainees shall provide themselves with text books, note books, records, instruments etc. as prescribed by the instructors and are supposed not to bring C.D, books other than text books etc and not allowed to do any business in premises. The trainees are not allowed to do any other course or study, driving test or job work during the study here. Trainees are strictly forbidden from taking part in strikes, political or other organizations likely to result in violence or communal disturbances. Those who take part in such activities will be dismissed.
  • Trainees are responsible for all tools, instruments, materials placed in their charge. In case of loss or damage to any of them, trainees will be held financially responsible. The training institute will not be held liable for damage to the property or personal injury to a trainee and no compensation from the institute. The training institute is not responsible for sending the trainees to home during class time for not wearing uniform, for not completing home work, records, sheets etc.
  • There will be monthly test, Half Yearly, annual exams for all subjects, normally after second Saturday of every month. For examination, no casual leave will be given, but medical leave and explanation of guardian in person are necessary. At the end of course a project should be submitted individually or group wise as directed by Instructor and the sessional mark for practical depends upon the project work. The fee for the All India Trade Test both theory and practical exam should remitted when the trainees are informed, and those who are not remitted in time will not be permitted for govt. exam. Only the N.C.V.T. test passed trainees will get the govt. certificates accordingly the Govt. issued.
  • Above all the co-operation of guardians is important. Parents are expected to co-operate in the work of the Training institute by enforcing regularity, punctuality and discipline and by taking interest in their children's progress. The guardians who come here for any reason, first come in the office and get the sanction. They are not allowed to go to class room, staff room, or lab, and not allowed to contact any trainees or staff without permission from office. We can make success, if the trainees have interest and hard work and co-operation of guardians, staff, and Management.
